So I started affiliate marketing around August of last year and I’ve learned a lot, made a lot of mistakes (like losing nearly $500 bucks overnight with PPC advertising), and have had a lot of fun in the process.
I’ve been working on a site that I bought around August of last year when I started marketing and I’ve found quite a bit of success in it lately. I really never planned that it would go this big, but I made over $500 bucks last month just off of this site! This particular site is all natural and I have paid $0.00 in advertising – ppc, or otherwise! Needless to say, I’m rather happy about the success that site has brought and I’m working on replicating that site in various niches to see if I can duplicate my success.
I know that the money making potential of said site isn’t going to dry up any time soon, because so far this month it has brought in around $100.00.
Plus, I just found another affiliate network that has a lot more offers in the niche I’m working in!
If you’re thinking about getting in to affiliate marketing, I would highly recommend it! It’s fun to learn and the chances of success and making bank are high if you stick with it!
Another math lesson for all you people who doubt the power of making money online:
1 site that makes $500 a month = $500 a month.
2 sites that make $500 a month each = $1,000 a month.
3 sites that make $500 a month each = $1,500 a month.
4 sites that make $500 a month each = $2,000 a month.
5 sites that make $500 a month each = $2,500 a month.
My new goal: 5 sites that do a minimum of $500 a month each in pure profit by the end of 2009. This will make me $2,500 a month and $30,000 a year.
That’s not bad in my opinion. Especially when you consider that I’m probably going to get a ‘real’ job some time in the near future and I’ll at least make $1,500 a month from that.
I think this goal is more realistic than my last goal. I have tasted blood. $500 bucks from one site for a whole month may not sound like a lot to some of you people, but it makes me happy. There is no stopping this Affiliate Marketer – soon to be one of those ‘rich jerks.’
Sincere Plug: None of my success with said site would have been possible without Market Leverage – The affiliate network that rocks. My affiliate manager is cool too, even though I never answer her calls. Sorry Melissa!

Quick Tips:
I’ve had a few emails lately from people that read my blog. It’s been nice and cool to hear from you guys! These people have all been watching affiliate marketing from somewhat of a distance and contacted me, more or less, for advice. I tell them all different things, but one thing in common that I tell everyone that emails me is to just start! Start with a blog – a blog about your online adventures. Write content. Get on Google’s radar and get some page rank (PR) behind your blog. Then start making other blogs and throwing products on them, with your affiliate link, of course. To do this you will need to sign up with one of the affiliate marketing companies that are on the sidebar of my blog >>> (I obviously suggest starting with Market Leverage). Then get tons of links to your affiliate blog from other websites. Just get going! And if you’re not old enough (18) yet to start affiliate marketing for ‘reals,’ just start making blogs that you think you will make money from when you can sign up for the affiliate networks. The longer your site exists and the more content you have on your site, the more important Google will think you are, thus influencing your natural (organic) rankings.
Hop to it!
If you’re new to affiliate marketing, you will probably want to read Zac Johnson’s Affiliate Marketing blog. I started affiliate marketing after reading his blog and besides the good information that he provides, he’s a cool guy.
