I usually put a lot of emphasis on getting external websites pointing (linking) to your website, but internal website links should be quite an important part of your site’s SEO strategy too! What does this mean? It means linking to posts, or pages on your blog or website FROM your blog or website.
An example of such a link on this blog would be if I put a “Make Money Online Lesson 1” link on my sidebar pointing to my post: http://eliteeternity.com/affiliate-marketing/make-money-online-lesson-1-start-a-blog/. This anchor text would assume that I’m trying to rank in the search engines for the term “Make Money Online Lesson 1”.
I’ve noticed that since I started doing this, my rankings jump drastically (within a few hours). Remember how I told you that bolding your anchor text might help, too? Bold your anchor text in this case as well. Use the <STRONG> (bold) tag sparingly. I just try to use it on stuff that I think might rank well for me. If I have a link up for a while that’s within the <STRONG> tag, and I’m not getting traffic to it, I’ll often unstrong it.
This may seem very simple, but I really feel like I’m giving you guys some ridiculously good tips on how to improve your blogs or websites to make more money online! Feed those spiders! Get on it!
