There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the process that Google takes to determine who pays how much and why for ad positioning using Adwords. The process that Google takes is apparently called the Ad Auction.
I always thought the landing page would be the biggest piece of Google’s pie, but apparently the CTR (click through rate) is the biggest determining factor in the price you pay (and the positioning you get) when you’re bidding on Adwords.
