Flawless Or Favored?

November 7, 2008 · 2 comments

I bet you can guess who I’m talking about without even reading ahead. (Perhaps the picture gave it away?)

First of all, I’d like to congratulate our President-Elect Obama. With the most sincerity, I say “great job.” It’s obvious you’re a great guy, excellent that you are the first black president etc..etc…etc…. Secondly, I’d like to make the argument that Mr. Obama would not currently be President-Elect Obama had the media not given him a completely golden board walk to the White House.

There is no question that the road to the white house has all sorts of obstacles, challenges, road blocks (and plenty more words that relate to roads) etc…but when the media just happens to be on your side the whole way, the ride tends to be a whole lot smoother! It is no secret that Obama received a huge percentage of the (free) on-air time, probably nearly 80% to the 20% that John McCain got and there is probably a few good reasons why this happened.

Firstly, (I’m a straight male) but Obama is a whole heckofalot more attractive than McCain. Second, Obama is African American, commonly referred to as “black” by the typical white, black, blue, pink, purple, or mexican human being. Third, Obama promises “change.” Still to this day, neither his supporters, nor his critics know what change he speaks of, but nonetheless, it made (and continues to make) a good tagline. Very believable considering his skin color. That alone is quite a change from the sea of white (nearly dead) skin that is jazzy-ing around Washington today.

I find it very humorous that the same media that was not only praising Obama the whole trail, but padding his seat with millions of advertising dollars and free (mind you, positive) endorsements the whole way is the same media that, in the end, called his Presidential campaign “flawless.” Now, interpret that as you may, but I happen to understand that as favoring. Is it really a coincidence that the media called it flawless after deliberately making it that way? Call me crazy, but it seems a bit like we were fed one too many Obama change-sicles and not nearly an equal amount of McCain Straight-talk-cones. (perhaps I’m trying too hard?)

Definition Break –

Favoring: Unfair partiality; favoritism.

Now, mix that word in with CNN’s (the most trusted name in news) tagline “No Bias, No Bull” and what do you come up with?

“We Can Make Anything Happen By Feeding You Subliminal Messages.”

Or try this one on for size:

“CNN – The only place that officially knew that Obama would win before the race began”

Peace Up, A-Town Down.

I’d rather you not hear my comments about this. What an absolute disgrace. Yes, this was in America.

This post could also be named “How To Turn Off Potential Voters”, but I thought the humor aspect was more relevant.

Oh dear Hillary. What a sad last ditch effort to try to get voters. She could have at least rehearsed a few more times or hired a professional film director to guide her through this emotional press release. Hilarious! Anybody that believes this to be actually from the heart loses my respect. Maybe not my respect, but my confidence in their views. This is the worst act I’ve ever seen. Honestly, I would consider myself camera shy and I think I could pull off a better act. Just watch the video and have some tissues handy. You may need them to dry your tears of laughter.

Analogous to his run for President in 2008, Mitt Romney will prevail. Even through the bad weather.

Faith In America - Mitt Romney's SpeechThis speech was Golden in my opinion.

Since the speech has been covered by many other bloggers, I don’t think it’s necessary to re-state everything already said. [click to continue…]

Mitt RomneyOh, politics. *Sigh* I feel bad for Romney having to go from such a professional business environment to what is apparently a mud slinging brawl. This isn’t to say that the business environment consists of unicorns and fairy god mothers, but come on! Politics is much worse! I find it ridiculous that Romney has to basically defend his right to run for President just because he’s Mormon. What’s so wrong with Mormons? Please, comment on this post! [click to continue…]
