Which is exactly what I wanted.
I moved my corporate headquarters from the comfort of my bedroom to a not so cozy place – a warehouse. A friend and I rented (for a ridiculously good price) a tiny corner of the warehouse that I use to ship board games out of for my board game company – Empire Board Games. I’m trying to show my friend a few things in the world of affiliate marketing and we’ll see if our little partnership goes anywhere. The main reason for the move, though, was for my benefit.
I needed to get out of my bedroom and being in a warehouse makes me feel a bit more like I have a “real” job. I made good money sitting in my boxers in my bedroom, but it’s nice to feel a little more official. Getting dressed before 12 in the afternoon isn’t actually a half-bad idea. You should try it out some time. It sure does feel nice to not have your parents and the rest of your family come home from their jobs and look at you like you’re a useless piece of junk that “plays” on a computer all day too.
Nawhh, they were pretty understanding, but you know what I mean. You can’t have too much sympathy for someone that works on a computer – that’s just the way it works.
It feels so weird going home at night and not having a computer to run to. I was an addict, still am to a certain degree, but things have changed quite drastically in my life with the move. I used to be on the computer nearly every minute of every day. I would check my email every 2 minutes, check affiliate stats every 5 minutes, and open Facebook, Twitter every 10 minutes. I used to think that I was working all of that time that I was browsing (and in a way I was), but now that my “office” isn’t at home, I feel like I’m a lot more productive when I’m actually on my computer. Really though, it feels completely awkward not having a computer at home.
The first night that I was without my computer, I cleaned my whole food storage room, and the basement. The next night I cleaned the family office. I’m pretty much out of stuff to clean, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I feel more productive being separated from my computer. Enough said.

Hardly Cozy: (but still not bad)

If I’m not on MSN messenger, or Facebook 24/7 this is why.
I’ll probably write more about my office situation in the near future, because it’s a pretty weird/new/intersting experiment/experience. I’d dare call it life-changing. lol.
P.S. If you throw a (permanent) link on your website with the anchor text “Board Games” that links to http://www.empireboardgames.com/ then I will give you a $15.00 coupon to use at Empire Board Games.
