I told you guys about how I bought my first car a couple of months ago. Even though it has needed a few repairs, thanks to Integrity First Automotive, a local Utah BMW Repair shop), my 2000 328i BMW is running smoothly and better than ever before. I’ve been meaning to brag about Integrity First for a while now, but couldn’t find the time. Well, friends, the time has come.

A Mechanic With Sweet Computer Skills
I first found out about Integrity First via Bimmer Shops when I was googling around. I didn’t just want to trust my new baby with some piece of junk mom and pop auto store, or even an overrated auto chain for that matter, so I did a few hours of my typical nerdy research. I found a few shops, read some reviews, sent some emails about some issues I had been having (i.e. RPM dip issues), and waited for replies. I got a friendly, nearly-instant response from (my now Facebook friend, lol) Damian from Integrity First and things have proceeded from there. So let me point out some items of significance that put Integrity First above other average repair shops.
First of all, I obviously don’t have much experience with owning a car, mainly because this is my first one, but just from observing friends and family and their relationship with their mechanics as I have grown up, I have never known a mechanic to 1) know how to turn on a computer. 2) have an email address 3) respond to emails and 4) have an active Facebook profile. Damian responded to my questions via email and came across as a really cool, helpful, friendly guy that was more interested in building a relationship with a customer than making a quick buck. I respect that.
Integrity Inspection
So I’ve had Damian and his crew work on my car a few times now, and I’ve been real happy with the results. The first thing worth mentioning is that Integrity First does what they call an “Integrity Inspection”. The best part about this is that it’s free, and the second best thing is that it is a very thorough and detailed analysis of your vehicle. He covers everything from your belts and hoses, steering system and suspension, to tires and wheels. I was very impressed that they even make notes next to each inspection item and they record everything in their computer so there is always a record each and every time an issue has been taken care of. It’s also worth noting that they don’t only work on European cars. They’ll give everyone a free Integrity Inspection. There were several things that Damian found out about my car that I wish I would have known before buying it. Probably wouldn’t have ultimately changed my mind about buying the car, but still would have been nice to know.
Damian says this about his Integrity Inspection:
It is really intended to give our clients an overview of their vehicles before they make investment decisions. I don’t want to sell them something only to have them disappointed that they didn’t know their car needed a bunch of other things they didn’t know about.
The attitude captured in this quote pretty much sums up Damian. He’s real up front about costs and quotes and not tricking customers (a quality that seems rare in the Auto industry by my estimation). He’d rather over quote you for a job and refund you the difference afterwards, than under quote you and surprise you with a punch-to-the-groin bill after the repair. As a matter of fact, I don’t remember the exact numbers, but he quoted me for like $1200 on some repair work, and he ended up not needing a part and surprised me when he told me it would only be $1000. Good stuff.
Following Up On Success
Fast forward a month or two after my last repair, and I just received a voicemail from…you guessed it, Damian. He was just calling to check up on my BMW – and this wasn’t the first time he has called. I typically get a phone call the day after I take my car home from his shop. He just calls to see if everything is working well. And this isn’t some insincere sales call. You can tell that the dude really cares about backing up the work that he does. He even drove around with a friend and I in my car for a half hour or so just so he could better assess the issue/feeling in the car that I had been noticing.
The only downside to Integrity First Auto is that they are so far away from my house. But you know what? The superior service and friendly advice I get every time I take my car down to West Jordan reminds me that the sacrifice I make to drive that far is worth it. That’s what’s up.
Schedule An Appointment
Give Damian a call to schedule an appointment: 801-352-0986 I think they work 9 to 5.
I Forgot to mention that Damian has all of the good credentials to go along with his sweet skills, namely B.Sc., ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician and probably some others that I’m not aware of.
(To Appease Obama & The FTC) Disclaimer: I am in no way profiting from this post. Just a satisfied Integrity First Auto fan boy.
