Nobody Gets It But Google. Chrome Slider

I love Google Chrome. Of course it lacks the obvious bulk and extra junk that other browsers carry *cough* firefox *cough*. But for 75% of what I need a browser to do, Chrome does it – and fast.

One of my favorite features is the slider window exit button. Say for instance you have 20 browser windows open. Now say you want to close those 20 browser windows by tapping the “x”. This is what happens when you try to do this simple task with a junky browser like FireFox:

Now here’s how Chrome handles the same situation:

Not a big deal, right? So it keeps the x right under your cursor. Big deal! Of course it’s not a big deal. Google has never been about making “big deal” improvements. Just small, sensible improvements that that make a huge difference in a small way.

Let me take a wild guess and say there’s an add-on for FireFox that enables the same functionality. Tell me that and I’ll laugh in your face – in a nice way, of course.
