I bet you can guess who I’m talking about without even reading ahead. (Perhaps the picture gave it away?)

First of all, I’d like to congratulate our President-Elect Obama. With the most sincerity, I say “great job.” It’s obvious you’re a great guy, excellent that you are the first black president etc..etc…etc…. Secondly, I’d like to make the argument that Mr. Obama would not currently be President-Elect Obama had the media not given him a completely golden board walk to the White House.

There is no question that the road to the white house has all sorts of obstacles, challenges, road blocks (and plenty more words that relate to roads) etc…but when the media just happens to be on your side the whole way, the ride tends to be a whole lot smoother! It is no secret that Obama received a huge percentage of the (free) on-air time, probably nearly 80% to the 20% that John McCain got and there is probably a few good reasons why this happened.

Firstly, (I’m a straight male) but Obama is a whole heckofalot more attractive than McCain. Second, Obama is African American, commonly referred to as “black” by the typical white, black, blue, pink, purple, or mexican human being. Third, Obama promises “change.” Still to this day, neither his supporters, nor his critics know what change he speaks of, but nonetheless, it made (and continues to make) a good tagline. Very believable considering his skin color. That alone is quite a change from the sea of white (nearly dead) skin that is jazzy-ing around Washington today.

I find it very humorous that the same media that was not only praising Obama the whole trail, but padding his seat with millions of advertising dollars and free (mind you, positive) endorsements the whole way is the same media that, in the end, called his Presidential campaign “flawless.” Now, interpret that as you may, but I happen to understand that as favoring. Is it really a coincidence that the media called it flawless after deliberately making it that way? Call me crazy, but it seems a bit like we were fed one too many Obama change-sicles and not nearly an equal amount of McCain Straight-talk-cones. (perhaps I’m trying too hard?)

Definition Break –

Favoring: Unfair partiality; favoritism.

Now, mix that word in with CNN’s (the most trusted name in news) tagline “No Bias, No Bull” and what do you come up with?

“We Can Make Anything Happen By Feeding You Subliminal Messages.”

Or try this one on for size:

“CNN – The only place that officially knew that Obama would win before the race began”

Peace Up, A-Town Down.

Oh dear Hillary. What a sad last ditch effort to try to get voters. She could have at least rehearsed a few more times or hired a professional film director to guide her through this emotional press release. Hilarious! Anybody that believes this to be actually from the heart loses my respect. Maybe not my respect, but my confidence in their views. This is the worst act I’ve ever seen. Honestly, I would consider myself camera shy and I think I could pull off a better act. Just watch the video and have some tissues handy. You may need them to dry your tears of laughter.

Since the speech has been covered by many other bloggers, I don’t think it’s necessary to re-state everything already said.

I think it was cool how bold he was in this speech: “Some believe that such a confession of my faith will sink my candidacy,” Romney continued. “If they are right, so be it.”
I also think it’s great that his speech is gaining praise among so many bloggers. Especially the bloggers that aren’t Mormon and don’t endorse Romney or his religion. They appreciate the boldness and honestly of his speech.

Anyways, enough of me. Check out the speech here. And do check it out! Don’t be like so many other Americans and say, “I’ll let others vote for me” or “My vote doesn’t count”. I’ve said it in many other posts: Quit being lazy! Take a stand for something! Vote For Someone! Educate Yourself!

Oh, politics. *Sigh* I feel bad for Romney having to go from such a professional business environment to what is apparently a mud slinging brawl. This isn’t to say that the business environment consists of unicorns and fairy god mothers, but come on! Politics is much worse! I find it ridiculous that Romney has to basically defend his right to run for President just because he’s Mormon. What’s so wrong with Mormons? Please, comment on this post! Religion shouldn’t be the issue. I’d love to hear a reasonable complaint about the guy. Why isn’t Huckabee having the same problem. I mean, he was a freaking Minister or something in his church.

I don’t know what else to say other than give all the candidates a chance. Even Hillary (I say that because I know how quick you’ll check her off of your list).
Most importantly VOTE! Vote for someone! There are so many teens that say “my vote doesn’t even count” or “I don’t know who to vote for”. All I have to say is that your vote does count and figure out who to vote for! Either vote or go live in China. It’s just that simple. Live here, be a citizen, and participate or get out! You’re just dead weight for the Country! Be active in politics! don’t play the “I don’t care” role that so many people in the country play out of pure laziness.

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2007/11/08/
king.methodical.mitt.cnn?iref=videosearch
Watch the video to get the full effect of my first impression.

Fred Thompson: “And the governor of Massachusetts apparently has spent 20 million dollars of his own personal fortune. And apparently a good chunk of that in South Carolina. And all I’ve got to say is governor, you can’t buy South Carolina, you can’t even rent South Carolina.”
(Smiling) Romney’s response: “If you want to get strong in these early states. You’ve got to show up, you’ve got to work hard.”

I’m somewhat confused as to what Thompson is implying in his little head bobbing outburst. Is he trying to say that it was wrong for Romney to try to educate the people of South Carolina as to what his goals and beliefs are as a candidate for president? The only thing that I saw in this video was a loss in control on Thompsons part. If he’s going to get that angry about Mitt Romney spending some of his own cash on T.V. commercials, then I don’t even want to see him in the white house when someone slaps a tabloid on his oval office desk that shows him and Brittney Spears together with the heading “oops, Thompson Did it again!”.

Okay, that was a little random and unnecessary. But the point I’m trying to make is that this guy is a bomb waiting to go off. That little tid bit of video was the first real impression I got of Thompson, and enough to make me not want to vote for him. As with all of the candidates though, I’ll give him a fair chance and review him thoroughly before making my decision on who to vote for.

Oh yeah, what’s Thompson planning to do with all of his tv ads? Make people feel good about themselves? They definitely can’t be to support his campaign. That would be “buying” or possibly even “renting” voters. Right on his home page: http://www.fred08.com/index.aspx I see 5 ads! And they call Romney a “Flip-Flopper”.
