I’m sure my idea isn’t a new one. Heck, Google’s been doing it for the last, what, 10 years? It’s called searching – for anything! Unfortunately, Paypal hasn’t quite caught on yet. If you’re searching for a particular transaction in your Paypal records, be prepared to whip out either the email, transaction ID, Last Name, First Name, or another tid-bit of information relating to the transaction you’re looking for.
So what happens when I’m not sure of any of the information that is required? And what happens when I go to eBay and I can’t even look my “Buy” history because they won’t let me look back further than the “Last 60 Days”? If they do, I can’t figure it out. I see a “Custom” option that says “(Last 14 Days)” but no quick way to change that date range. It can probably be done, but I’m not sure how, and I’d rather blog to complain about how stupid it is than figure it out because I’d rather not let eBay win the battle of my frustration.
– Digression.
So I bought a phone a couple of months ago through another eBay account because mine got banned. The phone is called a Sprint Diamond and I’m sure that if I were able to search the records for “Sprint Diamond”, the transaction would show up. But since I can’t do that, I’ll probably have to download all of my account history from since the beginning of this year, then try to search the download. Downloading the history isn’t exactly hard, it just sucks – kinda like Paypal.
