Slide To Unlock (S2U2) For Sprint Diamond – Install Tutorial

Apparently this isn’t new news, but it is for me. The good folks over at ac-s2.com have developed a nice little app for the Sprint Diamond. The app lets you slide to unlock your phone (you know, like the iPhone?). Anywho, I had this app on my Sprint Mogul, and it worked great, but I tried putting that same app on my new Diamond and it had all sorts of issues. Apparently a new version was released (for VGA) phones and I wasn’t let in on the little secret. Discussion about S2U2 on XDA-Developers.

If you have the Sprint Diamond and you want this app, all you have to do is go here, download the “VGA Version” cab, connect your phone and throw the cab on your Diamond’s internal storage. Disconnect your phone from the computer, go find that cab on your phone and click it to install. Very simple. There are tons of options in the S2U2 Settings within your phone once the app is installed. Also, make sure you change that default flower pic. We don’t want you to start looking fruity.

To change that background image from flower to something cooler, all you’re going to have to do is find this directory on your diamond:  My Device/Program Files/S2U2/gfx (inside the gfx folder will be wallpaper.jpg and wallpaperl.jpg). Then you will simply replace the “wallpaper.jpg” image with the image of your choosing. Then just copy and paste (yes, you want to overwrite it when it asks). Same process to replace the landscape image, except the landscape image is called wallpaperl.jpg

Make your mark if you have any questions or problems. I can help you out.

Just for the record: The version you are going to download will not be Chinese...it will however have that .....flower.

Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate for cheap. 91% off! Holy Smokes!

This deal is only for students, but it sure is a sweet one!

Buy Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007!

My good friends at lifehacker made me aware of this deal, and I took the bait. I’m glad I did.

For a limited time (I guess), all students that are enrolled in at least .5 college credit hours can get the complete Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate Edition for $59.95. Retail is $680; I’ll call it a bargain.

Just be sure to read the terms of agreement before paying. I almost didn’t realize that you had to be enrolled in .5 credit hours. That would have been bad if I wasn’t, but thank goodness I am. They say that they randomly choose people to prove their college admission, and if you can’t, you pay the difference. The difference and probably their legal fees for the time. Trust me. Those get expensive.

Ever wondered how many times you can legally install Office 2007 Ultimate on your machines? Click Here.

How Many Times Can I Install Office 2007 Ultimate?

I just got off the phone with a Microsoft Support Technician. My sole purpose in making the call: To find out how many machines I could install my newly purchased copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate on.

Mark my words that on this day, August twenty-second, Two-Thousand and Eight I was told by Microsoft Technical support the following information:

Office 2007 Ultimate can be installed on 1 Desktop and 2 Laptops.

I proceeded: “So that means 3 machines total, correct?”

His answer: “Yes”.

The answer we’ve all been waiting for: Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate can be installed on 3 personally used machines, period!

There have been tons of questions about how many times Office 2007 can be installed on personal machines, and I wasn’t able to find a clear answer on the web. I decided to call and that’s what I was told. I will now install Office on my desktop and Macbook.

You’re probably a nerd if you use this software

…and you claim that it works.

EyeDefender

EyeDefender Combats Eyestrain, Repetitive Stress Injury

My good friends at lifehacker made me aware of this software and yep, you caught me. I downloaded it and I’ve started using it.

I’m not going to lie. I think it works. It is pretty annoying when the eye trainer pops up right when I’m in the middle of busting out some sweet, tricked out website edits, but hey, if it’s going to save my eyes, then so be it.

The only reason I even consider using this software is because I’m staring at my computer screen from like 9:00 AM in the morning to 1:00 AM the next morning. That, and it’s free…and it’s cool…..and it makes me feel nerdy.

I admit it, the software rocks!!!
*thinking in my head*
I’ll probably delete it tomorrow…

The Jing Project – Free Screen Shot and Video Capture Program

This is quite a handy-dandy program. I use it all the time when I give feedback on websites.

Look at the pictures below. You should get the idea of what the software is for. You can download it here. Jing is available for both PC and Mac.

This program is definitely worth your time if you do any sort of screen capturing. Try it out!
