I bought a photoshop tutorial website a few months ago and really haven’t done much with it lately. However, I frequently check my Google Analytics traffic stats – even for sites I don’t mess with a lot.
I just happened to check this nearly-forgotten about site’s analytics the other day and I noticed a huge leap in traffic. I Checked where all the traffic was coming from and noticed that for some reason, one of the tutorials was featured on StumbleUpon and I got a huge rush of traffic. I don’t even really know how the big SU works so I can’t care too much. If my post had been featured on digg, that would have been a different story.
Anyways, this goes to show that these stupid social bookmarking sites do have their benefits…at least for webmasters.

I was surprised that Dreamhost took the Stumble and didn’t crash.
